Move the Lab!

Relocating a lab? We're the experts that will move your equipment to a new room, building, or state quickly and safely.

Lab Moving Services

With an extensive background of lab installations, Athena Scientific provides both full-service or partial lab moves. Our goal is to get your equipment operational quickly and minimize delays in your research.

Below are the typical steps included in our full-service lab moves. For partial lab moves, we can coordinate any of these steps with you for a seamless move.

Step 1 — Evaluation and Planning

During this phase we will evaluate your current lab and equipment, as well as the new location. This involves lots of measurements, calculations, and planning what equipment we will need for everything to be moved safely and efficiently. This is the critical time to investigate potential hazards, challenging object geometry, or other issues that may arise during the move.

Step 2 — Construction

This step takes place at the new location. We will ensure that any infrastructure needed for the lab equipment is installed. This often includes electrical work, ventilation, cabinetry, gas, plumbing, and safety systems.

Step 3 — Disassembly and Packing

The final preparation step before the move is preparing all of the equipment. This includes properly shutting down equipment, thorough labeling of all systems, disassembly of the lab and equipment, and packaging everything. Our service includes palletizing and crating equipment, boxing up additional items, and preparing everything for a seamless move.

Step 4 — The Move

Once all the preparation is complete, it's finally time for the move. This is where any specialized equipment is brought to safely move everything. Our projects range from simple jobs involving dollies and pallet jacks to complex projects requiring telehandler operation and specialized trucks. Whatever the needs are, we ensure that everything is handled with utmost care.

Step 5 — Unpacking and Installation

With everything in place, we can now remove all the packaging and set everything up. This includes reconnecting systems, connecting ductwork, gas lines and plumbing, and ensuring everything is operational. With good planning, this last step is often the easiest, though we are always prepared to resolve any issue that arises.
